FERMER

Recommend Fullness

If you already have a pole installed, measure its full length, and our recommended fullness ratio is 1-1.5.

Recommended Curtain Width = Curtain Pole Length x Fullness Ratio

Measurement Method

If you do not have a pole yet, follow the steps below to measure the pole length and calculate the recommended curtain width:

  • Grommet Top&Bottom

  • Grommet Top

  • Tab Top

Measuring Width
  1. Measurement A

Measure the full width of your window; if it is in a recess, measure the full width of the recess.

  1. Measurement B

For a recessed window, you’ll need to decide whether you’d like to have the curtains inside the recess or above. If you want your curtains above the window, you need to decide how far your curtains will over-hang the wall on each side of the window. This would normally be around 8 inches each side to make sure the curtains open widely.

  1. Measurement C

Add up Measurements A+B+B from steps 1 and 2, this will give you the desired curtain pole length. Please do not include curtain pole finials for measurement C.

  1. Recommended curtain width

Finally, multiply C by 1.5-2, depending on the fullness you would like to have.

Measuring Length

ⒶSill Length

Measure the distance between the top of the pole to the bottom of the window and then add 1.2" to achieve sill length.

ⒷBelow Sill

Measure the distance between the top of the pole to the bottom of the window and then add 7.2” to achieve below sill length (about 6” below your window sill).

ⒸFloor Length

Measure the distance between the top of the pole to the floor and then add 0.2" to achieve floor length (about 1” above the floor).

(Note: The full length of the curtain does not include the length of the folded portion.)
